Infantry Training

Overview

A real-time management military units tactical training app for Android platform. The idea of the service is to provide a feeling of real soldiers’ training process, including different environments, weather, and visibility conditions. The commander should have all the required capabilities to communicate, manage and investigate the training session of the soldiers in the field.

It was an outstanding adventure, full of challenges and the result of this process was a great product that won an innovation award from the Military Simulation and Training Magazine. In addition, the platform was chosen by the Peruvian army as the operative tool for its tactical training sessions.

This project was made in collaboration with Globalbit – the leading Israeli tech and entrepreneurship portal.

Exploration

In order to identify and build an optimal product, I started the process with qualitative research, which provided a deep understanding of the army unit training process.

The project needed further exploration, insights into how potential users relate to the point, what they have to share, what affects their behavior, how they act in unexpected situations.
Interviews were beneficial in the early phase of product development. People’s pain points, opinions, and experience in the field helped to gather valuable information and understand better user behavior in certain and critical situations.

Based on this knowledge, the product was equipped with the necessary functions to simulate a real workout, including such things as a soldier’s physical condition indicator, his ammunition and vehicles, voice commands and also the possibility of a video recording of the training, which will allow further analysis and improvement of training activities.
